Why Crushing is an Award in Itself Even Without Repcerociation

First, why do people crush in the first place?

According to Helen Fisher, or whatever her name is, throughout a person's life, he or she is consumed with traits of other people that they like or don't like, subconsciously. When they see a person with a lot of the traits they like, they form a crush. Crushing on someone is an award in itself because it is a remainder that such a person exists. Putting that award based on the reprication of the other person, however, is a whole another thing.

Often times, when you are not even crushing on the actual person but the over-idealization of traits you like.

Update: I crushed on him pretty passionately for 4 months and suddenly it just fade away, which made me sad since it's been years since I had crushed on someone and I'm disappointed it was so fleeting. Maybe I could reignite it (or maybe not).
